"Promoting Korean Culture and Harmony with Local Residents"
The Tri-Valley Korean-American Parents Association (KPA, President Heeyeon Lim) will hold a ‘Korean Culture Festival’ this year to promote various Korean cultures. In a recent press release, KPA announced that it will hold a ‘Korean Culture Festival’ event at the Livermore Civic Center Library starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 18.
President Lim Hee-yeon said, “Following last year, this year we will hold a Korean culture festival representing the Tri Valley region with interesting and diverse contents,” adding, “The festival will be a place to promote Korean culture to local residents in a more fun way and also to promote harmony among Koreans.” She also urged many Koreans in Northern California to participate.
At last year’s event, KPA received a great response by holding various board exhibitions promoting Korean culture such as Hangeul, Korean cuisine, taekwondo, K-POP, and K-drama, as well as experience booths such as Hanbok exhibitions, writing Korean names on traditional Korean fans, making traditional Korean clothes, and making Norigae.
In addition, they also experienced traditional games such as ‘Jegichagi’ and ‘Ddakjichigi’, the game ‘Red light, green light’ which became famous from the show, ‘Squid game’, and a performance by the KPA Youth Orchestra.
The KPA Korean Culture Festival, now in its fifth year, will also be a fun festival to promote Korean people gathering together and Korean culture to local residents.
